Carlton Banks was bi-curious?

Anyone else think that is wrong and should be removed from the article? 0nslaught 22:51, 17 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I never heard of him being bi-curious. I just came to the discussion page to point that out. -Anonymous

What happened to Will?

The article seems to list what happened to all the characters in the season finale except Will, himself. The Banks went to the East Coast, if I'm reading right--does that include Will, and if so, why did he go? It's not that I'm particularly interested, but I figure this sort of stuff should be in the article. - Vague | Rant 02:44, May 15, 2005 (UTC)

No, he bought an apartment so he could stay at college. --69.136.111.181 00:19, 26 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

"I, Ooh, Baby, Baby" Episode

Can anyone describe in detail this episode please? I'm trying to remember if I've seen it or not & I keep missing it on tv. Either that or they just aren't airing it. All the other descriptions I've found are too short & too vague.

Complete theme song

I deleted the sentence that said in syndication only episode 8 uses the full opening credits. I just saw it for episode 2. I am not sure which ones have it and which ones don't.

Finished formatting and editing the complete theme song's lyrics. What was there before not only was incomplete (they missed out the very first verse of the song starting with "Now this is a story all about how..." etc.) it also had a number of errors in it (e.g. using "homes" instead of "holmes"). -- Jalabi99 05:57, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Uh, it's supposed to be homes, ese. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.200.246.252 (talk) 21:20, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jennifer Holliday?

Does anyone else think the Jennifer Holliday comment in the running gags section should be removed? I just don't understand how the two incidents are related to each other in kind (to qualify as a running gag), and the setup given in this article is too vague to make the nature of the gag, or why it was funny, clear. Can anyone else make sense of this?

Time to leave it alone

I've noticed it's been a long time since there has been a significant revision to this article, and the ones that have been made lately have almost always made the thing worse. Perhaps we should call it a day before people end up recounting every episode in the series to make points that don't need to be made (such as the addition about Geoffrey calling Will by his name in the final episode--does anyone think this maks that paragraph, or this article, better than it was?). All of you need to move on to Married... with Children, an article that actually needs help...

Nick at Nite

Does Nick at Night show all episodes of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air? It seems that they are missing some from their lineup, possibly due to controversial issues. --66.153.178.253 22:01, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is this the right lyric ?

"Now, this is a story all about how My life got flipped-turned upside down And I liked to take a minute Just sit right there I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel Air In west Philadelphia born and raised On the playground was where I spent most of my days Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool And all shootin some b-ball outside of the school When a couple of guys Who were up to no good Startin makin trouble in my neighborhood I got in one lil fight and my mom got scared She said 'You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in bel Air' I begged and pleaded with her day after day But she packed my suite case and send me on my way She gave me a kiss and then she gave me my ticket. I put my walkman on and said, 'I might as well kick it'. First class, yo this is bad Drinking orang juice out of a champagne glass. Is this what the people of Bel-Air Living like? Hmmmmm this might be alright. But wait I hear the pricey booze, wine all that Is Bel-Air the type of place they send this cool cat? I don't think sow I'll see when I get there I hope they're prepared for the prince of Bel-Air Well, the plane landed and when I came out There was a dude who looked like a cop and yelled my name out I ain't trying to get arrested I just got here I sprang with the quickness like lightening, disappeared I whistled for a cab and when it came near The license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror If anything I can say this cab is rare But I thought 'Now forget it' - 'Yo holmes to Bel Air' I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8 And I yelled to the cabbie 'Yo homes smell ya later' I looked at my kingdom I was finally there To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel Air"

If it is, can we use it on the article? Cheers.

Errors that are not errors.

"When Will first goes to Carlton's school, one of the other students tells him that it was an all boys' school, yet in the episode when Carlton accidentally mistakes drugs for vitamin E, they all have dates to the prom. This is explained in one episode in the third season, it is mentioned that Carlton's school has become coeducational."

I'm removing this as the fact that the school does not accept female students is irrelivant to having dates at a dance. I went to an all boys school and was never short of a date because of OTHER SCHOOLS!!. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ferdiaob (talkcontribs)

"In the season premiere for season five, there was no conclusion to Will's stay in Philadelphia. After the opening credits, Will is back at home and things return to normal with no reference to the Philadelphia trip."

This is also not true, at the start of Series 5, Will is working in a Cheese Stake shop in Philidelphia, and a network executive kidnaps him, and returns him to Bel-Air. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ferdiaob (talkcontribs)

question

How do you know the show the fresh prince of bel air show in other countries and the translations?Shirleybiscuit

Well, people from "other countries" have internet, too, and can edit wikipedia. For example, I am brazilian, and yes, Fresh Prince airs on SBT and is called "Um Maluco no Pedaço" here. But no more from monday to saturday, it's only at Saturdays at the moment. It have to be updated.

Yeah, you tell em person who forgot to sign his talk, love the "other countries" bit too, lol. --Ferdia O'Brien 01:23, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Banks Mansion

Hi Everyone! Is the "Banks" mansion really existing in bel-air? If it is, I'd like to know where! If I remember right, in one episode Carlton is saying, that their house is next to the Spelling Mansion. In an another season Hilary is saying that their adress is 8225, St. Claire's road. Correct me if I'm wrong! Now I've found with Google Earth the Aaron Spelling mansion, but can't find anywhere near by the so called Banks's house. Please, if anyone is so deep into this like me, or is just an all-knowing fan, help me through this! :) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.183.108.41 (talk) 01:05, 27 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Dude... how can I tell you this, but... The Fresh Prince of Bel Air is a TV Show. Im sorry, but its true. The guy, yes, is indeed called Will Smith, but he's an actor. He's actually an Academy Award nominated actor. The house is fake dude, it doesnt exist. It was a set. Hope I didnt hurt your feelings. Lex94 03:49, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think what the person was asking is if the mansion shown is real. I would like to know myself what the address to that mansion is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.227.87.214 (talk) 00:28, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, the house itself exists - a place in the town of Bel-air California. But the inside of course is a tv set. But yes, driving around Bel-air, that house can be seen somewhere. ~ GoldenGoose100 (talk) 14:53, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Apache?

Is Sugarhill Gang's "Apache" is listed as a running gag, but has it actually appeared in more than one episode? Everyone remembers the Vegas episode but (aside from the clip show) I don't remember hearing it again. Pumpkingrrl 04:43, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is another episode which contains this song. I don't know the titel of it, but it is the "blooper show" of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. At the end of the episode there is a scene where the whole crew (incuding the people who are working behind the scenes) is together. Then while this song is played Will, Carlton (and Nicky) are doing their famous dance and everybody's having a "party". Before that whole thing Will says something about that for 6 years they always get together before the show starts. Propably that's why that song is listed as a running gag.

Does that really count as a running gag, though? Pumpkingrrl 05:56, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know, because for the viewer it isn't really a so called running gag, beacuse Will refers only once to that in the blooper show, but for the crew, who prepared before every single show by playing that song and having a little party to it, it is.

If that counts as a running gag, then the whole deal with them getting in a circle and joining hands before the show would count as a running gag too, even though it's not articulated on the show in any way. Pumpkingrrl 23:13, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Assassins?

Can anyone tell me in what episode a game of Assassin was played? Someone posted a reference to it on the Assassin article. RyanTMulligan 02:27, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I Can't tell you which episode that was, but it's in the 3. season, and Vivian is already pregnant. I think it is at the very end of this season.

Is there a website where I can reference this fact from? I'd like to have a reference for it. RyanTMulligan 20:16, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What is that Nintendo Wii reference doing here???? I tried to edit it but it does not show in the edit screen...Strange???

The assasin-game is played in the 11. Episode of the 3. season. The title is "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum"

Will Smith

whats with all the gay and molestation accusations with jazz i dont remember any of that

Issues Addressed

There was also an episode about "driving while black." When Carlton and Will get pulled over, but Carlton is in denial about why. They even go to credits with no music.

Summary

I took out the unnecessary recital of the theme song in the summary, but if anyone wants to re-add it in a different spot, I'd be okay with it. Maybe someone could expand on the summary? Hobsdtiger 02:51, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

== Carlton was in denial on that "Driving While Black" episode because Will assumed that he was from a rich family and wouldn't understand racism. Or he wouldn't understand how the cops stereotyped them as far as stealing the car from a rich white man. == —Preceding unsigned comment added by Smoomook (talkcontribs) 13:30, August 30, 2007 (UTC)

Trivia

Towards the bottom of the trivia list it says, "Despite that Will's full first name is William, it is actually Willard." I assume this is supposed to say that his full first name is Willard, rather than William (as would be assumed), but I'd like to make sure on this

Syndicated

When exactly is it aired on TBS? I haven't seen it on this station in a long time, I could be wrong though —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.224.212.191 (talk) 23:33, 15 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Running Gag

Isn't a running gag when someone insults will's mom, he tries to fight the person, and he gets beat up? Urena198 17:31, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No. A running gag is a form of comedy in which something is made funny by its reoccurrence several times. For example, if Will tries to fight someone multiple times, and he keeps getting beaten up each time, that would be a "running" gag. ~ Hyuugamoto (talk) 01:46, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Saved By The Bell

Can i add in Pop Culture that carlton makes a reference to saved by the bell in "Hex and the Single Guy".

That would not be a notable item to put into the article. This is wikipedia, not the show's website. Even in the Saved by the bell article, that probably isn't notable enough to merit putting it in the article ~ GoldenGoose100 (talk) 14:43, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Slight Edit

I slightly edited the Running gags section to state that Carlton's dance was in fact from The Dancing in the Dark Video(He admitted it on a VH1 retrospective show[I'm inclined to say I love the 80s since Courtney Cox's clip from the video was shown as he talked about it)]). In any case, I don't have a link for it so if anyone else has access to him saying it for validation, it would be much appreciated. Raven6248 18:48, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

All these lists

Does this article really need all of this trivia? Some of this can be salvaged (like the issues covered thing), but most of it needs to be deleted or severely reduced. - A Link to the Past (talk) 08:11, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-Protection?

I don't actually have a need to edit this, but I noticed that I can only "View Source" as it were. It says the article is semi-protected. Why can't this article be edited like all the others? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.232.251.244 (talk) 10:25, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

For probably a variety of reasons, this article is subject to a high amount of vandalism, mostly from unregistered users who abuse wikipedia. It's not to say that everyone does it, but editors constantly have to be fixing minor and major vandalisms. Some vandals even cover their tracks so you have to fix it from scratch rather than by just pressing UNDO. If you enjoy wikipedia, and like improving articles in any way, I suggest you should create an account and join the party. Doing so also would not display your IP address to the whole world. Have a good day, and take care ~ GoldenGoose100 (talk) 14:34, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Birthday

  • In the episode "Lucky Charm," Will tells one of Philip's business partners that his birthday is 7/3/73. Seven and three, being the businessman's lucky numbers, help contribute to his hiring of Will as his advisor. I may have misheard, but I believe that's his correct birthday. I won't edit the page just yet, however.
