Australian rock band AC/DC have recieved numerous awards, nominations and honorary accolades throughout their career. They were formed in Sydney in November 1973 by Angus (lead guitar) and Malcolm Young (rhythm guitar).^[1] Their first line-up include the Young brothers, Colin Burgess (drums), Larry Van Kriedt (bass guitar) and Dave Evans (vocals).^[2] The band's was never nominated from an award show in their early days, until in 1982, where they were nominated for Favorite Pop/Rock Band/Duo/Group in the 9th Annual American Music Awards.

The band released Blow Up Your Video (1988), which was nominated for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance – Vocal or Instrumental at the 31st Annual Grammy Awards in 1989. They were also nominated for another Grammy Award – Best Hard Rock Performance for The Razors Edge in 1991, and two more in the same category: "Moneytalks" in 1992 and the live version of "Highway to Hell" in 1994. The Razors Edge's lead single, "Thunderstruck" was nominated for Best Rock Video at the 1991 MTV Video Music Awards. "Big Gun" won an APRA Award for Most Played Australian Work Overseas in 1995.
