Neurodevelopmental disorders: Types

The wording is weird mainly the usage of "includes"( the verb to include) does not necessarily mean we have exhausted all known and researched items as such is not a thorough list at all it is a very poor work. currently considered neurodevelopmental are definetely of one of these types; Does not mean we are wrong. Currently at the present level of medical science and research there are not any more known. These are the only types. Tomorrow some researcher might find something new we are not at fault we are not wrong. For someone reading an encyclopedia the writers should really put more effort to exhaust any and all research published in the medical science and related fields.Ntoulinho (talk) 22:54, 24 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Ntoulinho: Sorry for the delayed reply. I (either inserted or preserved) the word "included" because I think that there's an important distinction to be made: man-made classifications of neurodevelopmental disorders are inherently limited. I approached from the perspective that neurodevelopmental disorders exist in some true sense, independent of human observation (am I getting too ontological here?), and the current state of the field places or "includes" X, Y, Z phenomena under that umbrella. In any case, I'm happy to take a look at how you and others have improved the page since my last edit, as I've been inactive for the past month or so. Aeffenberger (talk) 21:23, 10 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Aeffenberger: My big problem is that the verb to include signals the list is indicative instead of exhaustive. An indicative list is not fit for an encyclopedia( unless they are examples to help explain an abstact concept itself) because it gives away frivolousness, negligence, laziness in doing research. If it is indicative it is inherently bad whereas if it is exhaustive using the verb to include is counter-effective. Neurodevelopmental disorders only exist because we have named them as such. If we choose to name them Learning or Social disorders they would not be Neurodevelopmental. Apples and Oranges. The problem is not man-made classifications. It is research. People will look for information in wikipedia. They want an exhaustive list not an indicative list of what has been classified by Scientific Societies(their members are people) as a Neurodevelopmental Disorder.Ntoulinho (talk) 20:54, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for January 22

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Browser fingerprint, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Exploit (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Mikhail Lebedev

We urgently need a Wikipedia article on the famous neuorscientist, Mikhail Lebedev. Can you please finish the article on Mikhail Lebedev this weekend? It needs to be nominated as a good or featured article within 30 days. I Already started. Please see Draft:Mikhail Lebedev (neuorscientist). — Preceding unsigned comment added by LotteryGeek (talkcontribs) 01:11, 23 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi LotteryGeek, thanks for reaching out to me. Based on a cursory search, I don't think the article can meet WP:GNG for publication, let alone be nominated to good/featured status in the next month, so I don't think it would be worthwhile for either of us to expend more energy on that front. I know that you recently posted some links to articles which mention Dr. Lebedev. However, in most of these articles, Dr. Lebedev either was featured because of a professional affiliation with the publisher/some other unclear conflict of interest, or was mentioned due to a professional connection with the actual subject of the article. It may be WP:TOOSOON to write a quality, encyclopedic article. I would be happy to help you create the article once there is a strong reason to do so, and I would be happy to work with you on a different article concerning a notable topic in neuroscience. I posted more sources. I think it qualifies now. Please check it out. This guy is very famous and he needs at least good article status by the end of February. Can you start a group of world renounced Wikipedia article writers to do this? Please send me the list of authors who will participating on project by the end of tonight if possible.
