Edit summary when proposing deletion

Just a friendly reminder to use an edit summary which clearly mentions the term "prod" when proposing a page for uncontroversial deletion, such as on Jahangir National University. Edit summary usage is always good, but it is especially important that edit summaries are used when proposing deletion. The reason for this is that articles proposed for deletion that later have the {{proposed deletion}} tag removed should not be proposed for deletion again, but rather sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. The only easy way to check if an article was previously proposed for deletion is to look at the edit history and the edit summaries people have left before. Thanks! It appears that you have been canvassing—leaving messages on a biased choice of users' talk pages to notify them of an ongoing community decision, debate, or vote—in order to influence Tamil Genocide. While friendly notices are allowed, they should be limited and nonpartisan in distribution and should reflect a neutral point of view. Please do not post notices which are indiscriminately cross-posted, which espouse a certain point of view or side of a debate, or which are selectively sent only to those who are believed to hold the same opinion as you. Remember to respect Wikipedia's principle of consensus-building by allowing decisions to reflect the prevailing opinion among the community at large. Thank you. Repeating what I wrote at Talk:Tamil Genocide: the canvassing on reddit [1] [2] is a violation of our canvassing guidelines and will result in a block if you do not take steps to retract your canvassing attempts. signed, Rosguill talk 13:55, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
