Note for these interesting times. User talk:Iridescent#Reply, having slept on it is a smart take on what is likely to happen on WP for the next few weeks/months(/years?). I promise to try to (a) be less snarky than usual, and (b) be more understanding of others' snarkiness than usual. If you think I need to dial something back, emailing me to say "Dude, maybe dial it back" is more likely to work than publicly posting a lecture on my talk page. Only because I'm human and don't like getting embarrassed.
Normal humans: I'm an admin again! Not around too much, so best to ask another admin for help, but I'll do what I can, when I can.
Admins: If you think an admin action I've taken in the past is wrong or no longer useful, go ahead and undo or change it without feeling like you have to talk to me first.

What annoys me is the OP never discussed with me before tagging a page I'd AfC declined w/o tagging for G11, took it to ANI w/o discussing with me first, never notified me of the ANI discussion, and never responded when I raised those issues at the post-close comments. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 10:20, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Deepfriedokra: The OP concerns me some; though I have to admit I've only seen the name 3 times, each one was an error in judgement. More disruptive to building an encyclopedia than some kid writing a draft about his school, is someone with RedWarn/Twinkle/Huggle and a lack of compassion and common sense, and a desire to take advantage of the opportunity we inexplicably give them to tell other people what to do. I suspect for many, for the first time in their young lives. Some kind of maturity/wisdom test should be applied before we ~~turn someone loose~~ allow someone to turn themselves loose page "patrolling" or vandal "fighting". Your last message on his page (the blocked editor, not the OP) was nice. Thanks. I think the problem is, we're legitimately dealing with the proverbial firehose of spam, and for time availability and sanity reasons, it's hard to quickly differentiate clueless from evil. --Floquenbeam (talk) 21:20, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, no I hadn't seen anything there since Ritchie's last ping (crazy busy in real life). I'd support that, but I wish there was a way to have mature anti-vandalism without a public shaming like that. One good step would be: an admin (who I keep having to add, is allowed to indef block without preliminary community discussion) is allowed to impose a topic ban (or, for that matter, an interaction ban) unilaterally. Without being forced by law to go to the cesspit to ask for it. Then the target of the ban could appeal, much like they can appeal a block. --Floquenbeam (talk) 19:57, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Assistance Sought re [WP:HOUND]

Hello. I'm being subject to stalking from a JoelB.Lewis, and request assistance.

Their editing history is here:[1]

1. On 12 July at 15.35 he prematurely closed a discussion I had opened on the Reliable Sources Noticeboard regarding Reliable Sources. [2]

He then proceeded the stalking.

2. On 12 July at 15.48, having clearly viewed my edit history, he then removed a page tag I had added on a completely unassociated topic.

3. On 13 July at 20.38, it having been restored, he reverts it again.

4. On 15 July, he again clearly reviews my edit history, and again begins stalking: firstly at at 13.01 on Banksy which I had just edited

5. On 15 July at 13.49, his next immediate edit is Pages for Deletion: Prince Louis Ferdinand on which I had commented.

6. Continuing the psychopathic behaviour, he then goes back to Dark Emu, and then has the temerity to post on my Talk page that I have been guilty of personal attacks. If you review what is a difficult discussion ('Disputed') with a separate emotive editor, you will see there is no personal attack.

Could you please caution this JoelB.Lewis (whose Talk Page ironically features a barnstar provided by a sockpuppet) to desist from stalking and harrassing other editors. Thanks so much. ClearBreeze (talk) 17:28, 16 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
