Some baklava for you!

Thanks for your edit to the Lord of the Rings (series) Wikipedia page! Nice to see another "Tolkienite" on here. ;) EomereofRohan (talk) 17:02, 23 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Images

Hi, Gimli. I must admit - that no-image policy on Tolkien articles is rather strange to me. It just seemed to me that if Harry Potter articles get to have photos, that LotR ought to have the same; I am very certain that article-readers (including myself) prefer to have a picture in the infobox to help them visualize the character, as I received a "thank you" from CryMeAnOcean for adding a photo to Aragorn not a while back. Do you mind explaining to me the reasons for this policy? EomereofRohan (talk) 13:20, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

there have been numerous adaptations of Lord of the Rings. Giving Jackson’s priority is just wrong. Also fair use is an issue because the image needs to be discussed in the article. Having images in the adaption section Gives more weight to the fair use claim. There is an wiki project for Tolkien. It would be better to go there and get consensus GimliDotNet (talk) 14:28, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I would add that Fair Use generally requires some explanation of why you need more than one image from the relevant source in the article. I.e., you need a good reason to abrogate the owner's rights. -- Elphion (talk) 20:52, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Although Viggo Mortensen's portrayal of Aragorn is well known over that of any animated image or the photo of a stage actor, I understand now that an image should only be in the Adaptations section. Thanks. CryMeAnOcean (talk) 22:28, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Wrestling

Why do I need sources when everybody who's a wrestling knows about Jim Cornette?

Look up the information before you start making changes. No need for you to be an arsehole. DukeColeBannon (talk) 21:30, 6 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
