You seem to have been promoted!

See Denunciation of an organized conspiracy at Wikipedia (actually the (redacted) who posted there about you removing his edits seems to think editors are administrators). Dougweller (talk) 19:10, 14 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Screw admins, I'm being compared to Weinberg, Glashow, Ting et al. And this is a "bad thing" apparently :p. Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 22:28, 14 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Did you actually read this?

Wikipedia:SVG_help#File:Radioactive_decay_modes.svg Since January, I've encountered this issue on two other occasions. Purging the cache fails to reset all of the servers on the server farm. Stigmatella aurantiaca (talk) 14:09, 19 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What does the image in Commons look like to you? I still see arrows, but YMMV. Stigmatella aurantiaca (talk) 14:13, 19 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request editing help

I don't even know if I can sort out the problem - but here goes. If you look at this page you will see that it is entitled Portal:Physics/Selected article. Can you see what's missing? It supposed to say Portal:Physics/(year)Selected article. For example, for 2013 it should say Portal:Physics/2013 Selected articles.

There is a page that says that, but I think it is correct only because I made a correction, finally - on the last days of 2013. I think I have been using the first linked page for 2013 without realizing it - maybe.

At the end of 2012, I was able to construct a page for 2013 without knowing how the software worked, but by copy and pasting. However, I remember that at the end of 2012, at first, I could not get January 2013 to work properly. And then, somehow - magically - the page began working correctly. In any case I have the page started for the 2014 selected articles, but I couldn't get the January 2014 to work correctly so I requested speedy delete for that particular page.

I just looked at the top part of Portal:Physics/2012 Selected articles and the links are not set up correctly. I can fix this, but I am wondring if you can have a look. There is another situation that has arisen with this and I hope I can describe the problem. Let's try this:

Click on the link for "edit selected article" for January 2011 (here). The article is automatically opened for editing. Without making any edits save the page. Then notice at the top left there are two links side by side which say "Portal:Physics‎ | Selected article". Now click on "Selected article" to see where it goes. It goes to the wrong page. This is the first link I mentioned at the beginning of this post.

Anyway, you seem to be able to program bots, so I am wondering if you can figure out the problem or problems and fix this. It may have started with one or two errors during some year for the selected articles of the physics portal. Who knows, it may be 2010 or 2009. --- Steve Quinn (talk) 05:06, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

And - I hope you've been having Happy Holidays and I wish you a Happy New Year. --- Steve Quinn (talk) 05:06, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Magnetic field effect

Hi Headbomb! Are you aware of any existing data concerning the influence of magnetic fields on neutron lifetime? Thanks.--193.231.19.53 (talk) 10:17, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Invite you to comment on Template:hat

I have put some thought on hatting and when to use it, Template talk:Hat#Hatting should be used if and only if the section does not WP:FOC, feel free to comment about what you think. :) --14.198.220.253 (talk) 06:07, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
