Fantastic work on the Moonies page. When I first checked the edit history, I was sure there was some batshit kooky trollfest of an edit-war going on - but instead, and to my surprise, it's in fact a literate, refined reworking of a formerly vapid piece.

If I felt myself a Wikipedia official, I'd thank you on Wikipedia's behalf. I'm not, so just accept my own personal recognition, in the form of a poorly done ASCII smiley: :-)

Thank you for your comments - Marknw

Unification Church-related vandalism

Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. KI 02:53, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism???? The Unification Church article is almost pure Unification Church recruiting propaganda the way it is. At least tell me which parts of my edits were not appropriate to Wikipedia please. - Marknw

I see also you rolled back my edits on the Divine Principle Page. Are all edits to the Unification Church material forbidden? - Marknw

Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Do not spam the talk pages of other users. I will monitor your edits for the next few days, so I suggest you refrain from further vandalism. KI 15:52, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mark, it seems clear to me that you were making good-faith edits to the article. KI is unjustified in calling your edits vandalism, please don't think that all Wikipedians communicate without any explanation and only by vandalism warnings. I hope you'll continue to edit the Unification Church article and if you run into opposition start a dialogue on the article talk page. If someone merely reverts your changes without explaining their actions then they are not acting in good faith and this should be pointed out to them. Please keep in mind that you should always provide sources so that the information can be verified Thanks! Ohh and I see that nobody has welcomed you to Wikipedia yet, so here you go: Welcome!

Hello, Marknw, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!  jacoplane 20:59, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem! If you run into trouble in the future please don't hesitate to leave me a message and I'll look into it. I can't promise I'll agree with you, but I'll try to give an objective opinion. Please note that I know little about the Unification Church, so I won't be of much help in complex content disputes (Maybe I'll make an effort to educate myself on the matter ;) Cheers, jacoplane 22:17, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I fully agree that your edits were not vandalism and that user:KI has been unfair and uncivil to you in repeatedly reverting your edits without serious discussion about specifics. You may also want to expand the article, if you have read the book, The Making of a Moonie: Choice or Brainwashing? that I created. Andries 03:54, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
User:KI is the same contributor as User:Tchadienne as can be verified what s/he wrote on talk:Jimbo Wales. Andries 17:55, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User: KI LOL

Thought you might appreciate this quote from Ki's userpage (which seems to have been hit by actual Wiki-vandals?!?!? :(()

Opposes

   * Userboxes.
   * Hu Jintao
   * The House of Saud.
   * To the death penalty.
   ** Censorship – online or off for minors or adults. ** <-- LULZ

Anyway. Hopefully he didn't scare you off too much. Believe me, I've seen my fair share of "stop the vandalism", and his does not read like a Wiki-official.

It's sad what too much marijuana and belief in the Falun Gong can do to a mind. --Nugneant 18:59, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your encouragement Nugneant. I have been working on UC page. Let me know if you see anything I can improve. Regards Marknw 22:47, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

KOH

the "Kingdom of Heaven" is a political reality to Rev Moon and from the balance of all his speaches that a theocracy is exactly what he has in mind

It depends on what "theocracy" means. If it's an old-fashioned, do-as-I-say-or-my-soldiers-will-kill-you sort of evil dictatorship, then I don't think that's what he hand in mind at all.
If it's a family atmosphere where everyone on the planet can feel God's presence and voluntarily refrains from doing anything that would give God pain, well duh! --Uncle Ed 20:22, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Unification Church

Hi, somehow I didn't see your comment on my talk page before. I'll look at the article when I have the time (could be a few days). If there is a real problem with revert wars you can always request protection. I don't know what Wikipedia:Text move is but clearly it is just a proposal, and not an official policy or guideline. Cheers, jacoplane 17:07, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A software problem?

Mark, somehow a single comment you made at the Sun Myung Moon talk page resulted in 37 edits], which serves to (a) really mess up the talk page history, making it nearly impossible for other editors to identify what and where and to whom you were speaking, and (b) makes it similarly difficult/impossible to compare edits on the article to discussions on the talk page. I've never seen this problem on Wikipedia before, are you using an off-wiki editing tool perhaps? It also happened here, and here.

Informative edit summaries are always good, as well, and all of these edits lack any edit summaries.

Anyway, just to let you know that this does present a problem, though I'm sure it's not intentional. Please advise. WNDL42 (talk) 16:49, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 17:00, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merge

I've just proposed merging Unification Church and antisemitism into Divine Principle. Please join in the discussion, if you like. Steve Dufour (talk) 15:56, 4 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Thanks for your recent action. I felt that Rev. Moon's statement that you objected to was really about the fact that politics by itself can not solve the world's problems. I didn't want to get into a conflict with you about the issue. Anyway thanks. Steve Dufour (talk) 00:56, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your patience, kindness and wisdom. Best Regards Marknw (talk) 02:27, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
