Ussuri Cat

Hi Seduisant. Thanks for your invitation to comment on the Ussuri cat.

  • I did not find any reference to this "hybrid" in the Cat SG library;
  • Geptner and Sludskii do not mention this "landrace" in the Amur Forest Cat chapter;
  • I know of only one observation of a Prionailurus species (rubiginosus in Sri Lanka) and a domestic cat mating in the wild; therefore do not categorically exclude the possibility that a wild Amur leopard cat and a domestic cat produced offspring. BUT:
  • since the Ussuri cat article is highly speculative, relying on hearsay and repeating forum entries such as this one, a blocked site and one or two more, I do not at all object to its deletion.

Disambiguation link notification for May 23

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Phantom cat, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Puma (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

A barnstar for you!

The Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar
Thank you for helping me, I was having trouble correcting and editing the info and didn't want to get in trouble by breaking rules I'm new and easily confused as how to post,edit and what I'm allowed to link. ROCKNROLLQUEENL (talk) 04:00, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

cats as meat

I'm a little surprised by your summary reversion of my section on cats as meat. Certainly, one could put in various sources but since the link "Cat Meat", where I took the data from, is already in the tiny paragraph, I just thought a little paragraph there on the page would be useful. If you really think its so contentious it must be immediately removed, I certainly can't be bothered with it. So be it.

Oh, never mind, I'm being a Grumpy Dragon. I'm sure you think you are doing the right thing by Wikipedia, trying to make people make it right first time etc. I don't see it that way, I'm a WikiDragon and I slap things in on impulse, in seconds, as I surf my way through, in a passing thought. - I might summon the willpower to do it right, or I might not- either way it won't end the world.

Inspired by your action I lifted a section, refs and all, from Cat and put it into Hearing Range, which amuses me as it puts a contradiction in my new Cat section, complete with contradictory refs, saying cats have the wider range immediately over the Dog section, claiming dogs have a wider range. What fun Wikipedia can be!

Best Wishes,
