Category:LGBT television series
:Category:LGBT television series was deleted after discussion on CfD. There were seven votes for deletion, and six to either keep or rename the category. One of the votes, that of Wryspy, appears either to have been a joke or to have misunderstood that in the phrase "LGBT television", "television" refers to the medium, rather than the appliance. I would characterize the debate as "no consensus" rather than "delete". —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 22:27, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

::Ah — I hadn't seen that. Thanks. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 23:33, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
*Can you redirect categories? If so, do that to the new one, because it seemed like the logical result was to rename it to something a bit more correct. --badlydrawnjeff talk 23:31, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
:: IMHO "programs" is a better word choice that "series" because "programs" encompasses TV movies, specials, news programs etc. that aren't "series." So if cats can be redirected then LGBT television series should be directed to LGBT-related television programs. Otto4711 23:41, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
:::Essentially. As long as the category stays. --badlydrawnjeff talk 00:06, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
*Yeah, I was surprised to see that cat removed from the Queer Duck article. The new name makes sense though. Sahaja Yoga International

As a specialist contributor to this entry I am very annoyed that this entry was deleted full stop, rather than being merged into the Sahaja Yoga entry as had been proposed. Its arbitary actions of this type that give Wikipedia a bad name. Has the text been archived somewhere? Anyone know? Sahajhist 21:52, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

 • The text will still exist. No "deleted" content is actually permanently removed, I believe (unless there is an accidental server crash or something). I have no opinion on this case Bwithh 23:04, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the comment. The text has now appeared in the Sahaja Yoga entry. Sahajhist 00:00, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dave Charnley

My article on boxer Dave Charnley was deleted by DragonflySixtyseven. It was IMO an appropriate length and provided information about a notable subject– in this case Dave Charnley, European, Commonwealth and British lightweight boxing champion from 1957 to 1963. Charnley had two world title fights with Joe Brown and was defeated both times. His second title fight with Joe Brown in 1961 was a close decision and was Ring Magazine’s “Fight of the Year.”

The lengthy URL list and book references at the end of the article verify Dave Charnley’s existence and boxing record. Charnley was a well known boxer in his day and IMO just a good a Joe Brown who is mentioned on Wikipedia. The article, references and links are here: 01:03, 23 October 2006 (UTC)01:03, 23 October 2006 (UTC)01:03, 23 October 2006 (UTC)01:03, 23 October 2006 (UTC)01:03, 23 October 2006 (UTC)01:03, 23 October 2006 (UTC)01:03, 23 October 2006 (UTC)01:03, 23 October 2006 (UTC)01:03, 23 October 2006 (UTC)Charnley 01:03, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

(article removed from nomination - it can be seen at Dave Charnley (boxer))

 • Dave Charnley (boxer) is not only up but has never been deleted, and a find text search through Dragonfly's deletion log for 'Charnley' turns up nothing. What page are you actually referring to? --Sam Blanning(talk) 21:01, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
