Cite WP:BOSTON TEA PARTY when so many people are engrossed in heated discussion that WP:TEA seems quite inadequate.
It's worth bearing in mind that while it's true that the Boston Tea Party involved a lot of people and a lot of tea, unfortunately it didn't help calm conflict too much. Although, on second thought, it did lead to the American revolution which led to the overthrow of an oppressive, irrational authoritarian bureaucracy and the rise of a world power that laid the basis for modern liberty and federalism. Was that a noble cause? It's hard to say.
Instead of immediate revolution against tyranny, perhaps they should've waited 300 years, like Canada. If they stood around, sipping tea, chewing crumpets, and twiddling their thumbs instead of doing what needed to be done, which often involved cannons and muskets, eventually they would've gotten their freedom and independence, right? In about three centuries. Maybe. But they'd still have to have to call themselves "part of the commonwealth of the Queen," use those silly U's whenever spelling words like colour or humour. They'd also still have to have the Queen on their dollar, refer to her as "My lady," and bow in her presence whenever she strolled by in whatever extravagant potato sack she happened to be wearing.
Next time somebody suggests tea, perhaps you should ignore all rules and make a user account named Running Cow, then mooooooove on over to Wikipedia:A nice cup of tea and a sit down and throw their tea into the ocean.
But don't tell anybody we suggested you do that. That would be against the "rules."
