NebulaOblongata ("NB") is a blocked user who edited primarily from June to July 2022 in Islam-related topic areas, including the subject of WikiIslam; he attempted to change the article in favor of presenting its subject more favorably. He was blocked in early July for disruptive editing, among other reasons. He came back as two different IP addresses, which were also blocked as his sockpuppets, to continue the same work on the WikiIslam page.
NB has recently solicited user LiuWu87, who I suspect is his meatpuppet given the users' different writing styles and command of the English language, to continue those efforts to alter the WikiIslam page.
- LiuWu87 does not demonstrate the typical inexperience of a new user. LiuWu87 registered his account on 10:48, 23 December 2022, and immediately displayed familiarity with Wikipedia's dispute resolution processes, creating a new thread on the neutral point of view noticeboard within an hour of registering his account. He has also demonstrated awareness of the administrators noticeboard, conflict of interest noticeboard, and request for comment processes.
- LiuWu87 has advanced the same positions on the same article using the same arguments. LiuWu87 used substantially the same arguments as NB in advancing the same positions regarding the content of the article on WikiIslam. Compare, for example, this comment in which LiuWu87 cites WP:NPOV to argue against the use of wikivoice for negative descriptors of WikiIslam against this comment by NB who argued the same position regarding the use of wikivoice by citing WP:NPOV.
- LiuWu87 has made unsolicited and opinionated comments regarding the circumstances of NB's block. When I pointed out that LiuWu87 was making arguments that had already been made (by NB), he responded, without identifying NB by name, that NB had been silenced and banned so that they could no longer provide any arguments.
- Like NB's previous sockpuppets, LiuWu87 has single-mindedly pursued a significant effort to present WikiIslam more favorably. LiuWu87's contributions have focused solely on WikiIslam since his registration. After failing to find a consensus in his favor on the first thread he created on the neutral point of view noticeboard, LiuWu87 went on to create a second thread on the same noticeboard in quick succession, in which at least three users have noted his repetitive line of reasoning and bludgeoning of the discussion. The contributions of the IP addresses used by NB, i.e., 117.197.85.21 and 117.197.85.21, demonstrated a similarly undeviating focus on presenting WikiIslam more favorably.
