Suspected sockpuppets

the usual per WP:DUCK this [1] is typical county vandalism. Brianhe (talk) 20:05, 25 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@KrakatoaKatie: VP socks previously engaged in vandalism on children's television articles: [2][3][4][5]. There are others by editors who I suspect are VP socks also, but have not been definitively connected yet. - Brianhe (talk) 00:56, 27 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Just thought I'd add here, while researching for KrakatoaKatie's question, I came across Seoulaglow (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) who definitely has the VP signature; no other individual has been so devoted to hoaxing Western Washington county cities/towns like this. This is stale but maybe helps to list it anyway. The account has also edited several children's TV related articles, including List of programs broadcast by Sprout which Christmas snowflake returned to. - Brianhe (talk) 01:30, 27 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I added two more: Ericwinans x ray and Christmas snowflake. Both have been hoaxing on children's programming related articles, similar to Vodkapoise socks in the past, and both created Fairfax (TV series). Sro23 (talk) 02:04, 26 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • OFFICEdailed is  Likely; same range as many Vodkapoise socks but there's a technical difference. Based on the edit to the Pierce County, Washington template, I'm pretty sure this is Vodkapoise.
  • These accounts are  Confirmed to each other but, based on geolocation and technical data,  Unlikely to be Vodkapoise:
  • I'd not heard of Vodkapoise doing TV hoaxes before now, but if they do,  Behavioural evidence needs evaluation to be certain this second group isn't a new cluster. All blocked pending tags. Katietalk 00:50, 27 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Obvious duck: same obsession with Bed Bath & Beyond [6], same hoax edits to Washington state templates [7] & articles [8]. Dennis Bratland (talk) 07:29, 2 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets

WP:DUCK hoaxing/twiddling of businesses and children's television. Specifics follow.

First: Hoaxing/vandalism to Pacific Northwest businesses, Office Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond.

  • REI [9], Costco [10] are Seattle based companies
  • Office Depot [11] this can be considered VP signature editing pattern
  • Bed Bath & Beyond [12]. Bed Bath & Beyond has been vandalized in 2016 exclusively by a string of VP socks (also prior to 2016 by Brightify's Banclarknn) and now by this account.

Second: this account used to twiddle Counterfeit Cat [13] which was also target of a CU confirmed VP sock [14].

Other: Home Depot was also vand by this account [15] and by suspected VP sock Erwinemil [16] of course they also vandalized Office Depot in the signature style [17]. More unlikely intersections with Erwinemil include Pier 1 Imports and Bordertown (see editor interaction [18]). Brianhe (talk) 07:10, 7 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets

Vandalism of Washington State infobox [19] nearly matches recent changes by CU-confirmed VP sock [20] in particular fields (anthem, high point, etc.) and VP has vandalized same article in other ways [21]. Brianhe (talk) 17:04, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This is just some random bored kid, not Vodkapoise. The only similarity is the generic Harambe vandalism to Washington (state). Also Vodkapoise almost never leaves edit summaries. Either way, the account's been blocked as a vandalism only account. Sro23 (talk) 17:13, 9 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets

Vodkapoise/Brightify hallmarks as noted in Brightify LTA. Interest in PNW retail such as Kasala (furniture) [22] and Albert Lee Appliance, vandalizing Bed Bath & Beyond [23]. Brianhe (talk) 05:18, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Added since initial filing: Gordon Brothers [24], another signature target noted in Brightify LTA.
  • Other signature behavior includes hoax retail chain closure and bizarre incorporation of children's TV show into unrelated topic [25].
  • Prior CU-confirmed sock made nom for deletion of well known entity, followed immediately by un-filled boilerplate contest of own deletion [26][27]. This sock has repeated the behavior exactly [28][29]. - Brianhe (talk) 18:46, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Second account Aerylych added to case per same logic: Snohomish county pop place→city hoaxing [30], new account comfortable with children's television infobox manipulation [31], kids' tv misinformation/hoaxing [32], erases evidence of interest in retail [33] Brianhe (talk) 08:08, 19 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Third account Hawksdeign added - usual Brightify interests and pattern: city hoaxing [34], orthography/phonetics [35], retail, Gordon Brothers [36]. Brianhe (talk) 22:26, 21 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Fourth account. Taxesstoic. Signature hoax moves of obscure Asian locations to King County, Washington [39] & orthography/phonetics [40]. It also seems to follow an account naming convention that I won't spell out per WP:BEANS. - Brianhe (talk) 23:40, 25 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, another account with similar behaviour was CompUSA, blocked in September this year. I spotted blatant vandalism and they were indefblocked but I'm not sure anyone made the connection. Also the new Taxesstoic account which popped up yesterday and will probably soon be blocked seems to be almost exactly the same. Putting this here in case it's useful.
