"1980" is the debut solo single by British singer-songwriter Estelle and the first taken from her debut album The 18th Day.

In "1980", Estelle talks about her childhood; she titled the song "1980" for the year she was born. The single reached number 14 on the UK Singles Chart[citation needed] and was the highest charting single from her debut album.[citation needed] The song samples Tony Orlando and Dawn's "Lazy Susan". It remains one of Estelle's most well-known hits in the UK.[citation needed] The single is also one of her biggest hits in Australia, where "1980" peaked inside the top 40 at number 36.[when?]

Estelle performed the song during her set at the BBC 1Xtra urban music event.[when?]
