Torino Calcio did enough to beat local rivals Juventus in the standings, but despite this feat, it was not enough for an 8th league title, with Hellas Verona surprisingly taking the laurels. However, it was the first time since 1977-78 that Torino had finished second, so the season was still considered as successful, especially since the team qualified for the 1985-86 UEFA Cup.
