The 1997 Football League Trophy Final (known as the Auto Windscreens Shields Trophy for sponsorship reasons) was the 14th final of the domestic football cup competition for teams from the Second and Third Division of the Football League. The match was played at Wembley on 20 April 1997, and was contested by Carlisle United and Colchester United. The match ended in a 0–0 draw after extra time, so the match went to a penalty shootout, which was won 4–3 by Carlisle United.
