The 2003-04 Utah Jazz season was the team's 30th in the NBA. They began the season hoping to improve upon their 47–35 output from the previous season . They came up five games shy of tying it, finishing 42–40, and failing to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in twenty-one seasons.[ 1] However, their 42–40 record was their nineteenth consecutive winning season, which remains by three the all-time National Basketball Association record.[ 2]
