The 2015–16 season is Ayr United's 106th in existence and the club's third season in the Scottish League One. Ayr United will also compete in the Challenge Cup, League Cup and the Scottish Cup.

Season overview

May

  • 19 May 2015: Nicky Devlin signs a new one-year deal with Ayr United and is made the new club captain for the 2015-16 season.[3] He will be Ayr United's youngest captain for 102 years.[4]
  • 29 May 2015: Ayr United manager Ian McCall agrees a one-year extension to his contract, until the end of the 2016/2017 season.[5]

January

  • 5 January 2016: Craig Moore extends his loan from Motherwell until the end of the season.[13]
  • 6 January 2016: Ayr United release striker Ross Caldwell and centre-half Martyn Campbell from their contracts.[14]
  • 23 January 2016: Ryan Stevenson signs a contract to play for Ayr United until at least the end of the current 2015/2016 season, after being released from his Partick Thistle contract by mutual consent. Jordan Preston also extended his loan from Blackburn Rovers until the end of this season.[15]
