2020 Camellia Bowl

The 2020 Camellia Bowl is a college football bowl game that is scheduled to be played on December 25, 2020, at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Alabama, with kickoff scheduled for 2:30 p.m. EST on ESPN.[1] It will be the 7th edition of the Camellia Bowl, and will be one of the 2020–21 bowl games concluding the 2020 FBS football season.

Teams

The Camellia Bowl will be contested by the Buffalo Bulls, from the Mid-American Conference (MAC), and the Marshall Thundering Herd, from Conference USA.[2] The game will be the first matchup since 2004; where Marshall won 48-14 against the Bulls. Marshall leads the series 8-1, and the matchup will be the first in a bowl game.[2]

Buffalo

Buffalo of the MAC accepted their bid on December 20, 2020.[3] The Bulls enter the bowl with an overall record of 5–1 (5–0 in conference play); winning the MAC East division and competing in the championship game. The Bulls will play in the bowl game for the first time.

Marshall

Marshall from Conference USA accepted their bid on December 20, 2020.[4] The Thundering Herd enter the bowl with an overall record of 7–2 (4–1 in conference play); they were ranked at number 15 in the AP Poll at the end of November. The Thundering Herd will play in the bowl game for the first time as well.
