The 46th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army is an organic unit of the 8th Infantry (Storm Troopers) Division that is currently deployed in Central Mindanao and placed under the Operational Control (OPCON) of the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division There primary task is to secure the peace and order in the areas of Central Mindanao, especially the Province of Maguindanao which was noted for its deteriorated peace and order situation. Currently, the 500-man-battalion is under the supervision of the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division, which is garrisoned at Camp Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao. The battalion is now stationed at Brgy Kamasi, Ampatuan, Maguindanao.
