Andava Kaanom (transl. Barrel is missing) is an unreleased Tamil-language comedy film directed by C. Velmathi in her directorial debut and stars Sriya Reddy in the lead role.[1][2]

Synopsis

The film revolves around a women named Shanti and the problems that arrive when she loses her beloved utensil named Anda.[3]

Cast

Production

The film is directed by Velmathi, an assistant of Suseenthiran. The film began production in 2014.[1][5] Andava Kaanom features Sriya Reddy in the lead role; she was last seen in Priyadarshan's Sila Samayangalil (2018).[6] She was initially hesitant to act in a film, but decided to act after her husband, Vikram Krishna and brother-in-law Vishal insisted that she act after listening to the film's script. The film is set in Theni and several villagers from Theni and Madurai play roles in the film.[5][7]

Soundtrack

Soundtrack was composed by Ashwamitra, who previously composed for the film Kanchana 2 (2015).[8][9] Veteran music composer Gangai Amaren sings the title song.[9]

Release

The film was originally scheduled to release on 13 April 2018 before being postponed to 29 June 2018.[2][10] The release of the film was pushed to 18 October 2018, coinciding with Ayudha Pooja.[11][12][13] The film was set to release on 28 August 2020 in the production house OTT platform JSK Prime Media before the film ran into financial trouble.[14]
