The Long Beach NY Fire Department (LBFD) provides combination paid and volunteer fire protection and emergency medical services to the following communities on Long Beach Barrier Island, in Nassau County, New York: Atlantic Beach, Atlantic Beach Estates, East Atlantic Beach, and the city of Long Beach.[1] The department protects approximately 43,000 people and responds to almost 5,000 fires, EMS and other emergencies each year.[1]
