Luis Francisco Romo Barrón (born 5 June 1995) is a Mexican professional footballer who plays as a center-back and defensive midfielder for Liga MX club Cruz Azul and the Mexico national team.

Club career

Romo made his Liga MX debut with Querétaro FC on 20 July 2018, the first match of the season, against Atlas FC as a starter in a scoreless draw.[1]

In January 2020, he joined Cruz Azul.[2] He made his debut for the club on the 17th of the month against Atlético San Luis in a 2–1 loss.[3] On 25 July, he scored his first goal with Cruz Azul in a 3–0 victory over Santos Laguna.[4]

On 3 December, he scored his first brace against Club Universidad Nacional in the first leg of the Guardianes championship semi-finals, ending in a 4–0 win.[5]

International career

Called up by Gerardo Martino, he made his debut for the Mexico national team on 19 November 2019 in a CONCACAF Nations League game against Bermuda, finishing in a 2–1 victory.[6][7]
