Grace Chan (born 23 June 1991) is a Hong Kong-born Canadian actress, television show host, and beauty pageant titleholder. She was Miss Hong Kong 2013 and Miss Chinese International 2014.[1][2] Chan made her acting debut in the 2014 drama, Overachievers.

Miss Hong Kong 2013

Right from the beginning of the pageant, Grace expressed that it was her childhood dream to enter the Miss Hong Kong Pageant. After completing her university studies, Grace immediately returned to Hong Kong for the pageant; she even sacrificed her own graduation ceremony in Vancouver.

This year's pageant voting system differed from the past as the committee introduced a one-vote-one-person from Hong Kong citizens which would account for 50 percent of the final score; the other 50 percent was awarded by the panel of professional judges.

As an early favourite, Grace beat the other nine contestants by gaining a majority of the 170,000 votes that were cast from the Hong Kong audience.[3]

Finally, after various rounds she was crowned the 2013 Miss Hong Kong winner on 1 September 2013.

Miss Chinese International 2014

Organizers this year decided to change the formula of the competition and introduced an elimination round after nearly every segment.

Not only did Grace Chan represent herself well in the pageant, she is also the 3rd representative from Hong Kong to have held both titles, the last title belonging to Sonija Kwok 14 years ago. She defeated the hottest favourite contestant Cindy Zhong, who is from Vancouver and become the winner of Miss Chinese International 2014. Indeed, Cindy was placed 1st runner up.

Personal life

She was born in Hong Kong and immigrated to Vancouver, British Columbia at the age of 5. Because of her facial features, Grace was speculated to be a mixed Chinese. Grace clarified that both her biological parents are ethnically Chinese. Grace graduated from Simon Fraser University with a major in Communications[4] and a minor in Publishing.

On 26 July 2018 after much speculation, Chan announced via Instagram that she was engaged to her boyfriend of three years, actor, Kevin Cheng. On 12 August 2018, she married Cheng, in Bali, Indonesia. Grace has a fraternal twin brother and an older sister.[5] On 22 November 2018, Grace announced via Instagram that she is expecting her first child with her husband. In February 2019, Chan announced on Instagram that she gave birth to their son Rafael Cheng. Grace announced on Instagram on 20 May 2020 they are expecting a new member on their family[6][7][8]
