Undercover (Korean: 언더커버; RR: Eondeokeobeo) is an upcoming South Korean television series directed by Song Hyeon-wook and starring Ji Jin-hee, Kim Hyun-joo, Jung Man-sik and Han Go-eun. The series following the story of Han Jeong-hyeon (Ji Jin-hee), an agent at the Agency for National Security Planning and a human rights lawyer Choi Yeon-soo (Kim Hyun-joo), is a remake of 2016 BBC television drama series of the same name.[1] It is scheduled to premiere on JTBC on April 16, 2021.[2][3]
Synopsis
Han Jeong-hyeon (Ji Jin-hee) is an agent of National Security Planning Agency, who has been hiding his identity for quite sometime. Choi Yeon-soo (Kim Hyun-joo), a human rights lawyer, becomes the first head of the agency for justice. These main leading characters of the series uncover the truth, pitted against a huge force holding top position. The series tests their relationship as husband and wife when the secret life of Jeong-hyeon comes to fore.

Production
Development
In April 2020, the remake of the British miniseries was planned.[12] On May 5, YNK Entertainment reported that Kim Hyun-joo as protagonist is under consideration alongside Ji Jin-hee.[13]
Casting
In July, JTBC announced that with the joining of Yeon Woo-jin and Han Sunhwa the cast of the series is completed, as: Ji Jin-hee, Kim Hyun-joo, Han Go-eun Heo Jun-ho, Jung Man-sik, Kwon Hae-hyo, Park Geun-hyung, Lee Seung-jun, Lee Han-wi, Kim Soo-jin, Choi Choi, Son Jong-hak, Song Young-gyu and Choi Kwang-il.[14][15]
