Sophie Baggaley (born 29 November 1996) is an English football goalkeeper who plays for Bristol City.[2][3] She won the FA WFA Players' Player of the Year and was named in the PFA Team of the Year.

Club career

Baggaley started her senior career in 2014 at Birmingham City. She went on loan to Bristol City during the 2017–18 season in hopes of more playing time. During this season she won The FA Women's Football Awards' Save of the Year, for a save against Arsenal.[4][5] She permanently joined Bristol City in the summer of 2018.[6] In September 2018, Baggaley was awarded both the FA WSL player of the month [7] and the inaugural FA WSL PFA Fans Player of the month.[8] At the end of the 2018–19 season she won the FA WFA Players' Player of the Year award and was named in the PFA Team of the Year.[9][10] However, she was unable to help them have a good record in the FA WSL, as Bristol City ultimately went 7-4-9.[11] She kept 6 clean sheets in 2019.

International career

Baggaley has played for the England team at every age grouping up to under 23 level.[12] Baggaley was called up to the senior England squad in October 2016[13] and has been on the bench on three occasions.
