Hero – Gayab Mode On is an Indian Hindi language fantasy drama television series.[2] The show is produced by Alind Srivastava and Nissar Parvez under the banner Peninsula Pictures. It stars Abhishek Nigam[3] and Yesha Rughani.[4] The show went on air on 7 December 2020. It airs from Monday to Friday on Sony SAB.[5]

Plot

Long ago, in the golden era, a mystical ring, which has the power to make the wearer invisible, gets lost in the fight between devatas and asuras (demons). The ring becomes a story which no one believes except a scientist named Amal Nanda. Amal carried out research to find the ring but gets arrested for a scam. After his arrest, Amal goes missing and his family is taunted by the community. His house is burned, his wife Sandhya dies after giving birth to twin girls, and his son Veer is left all alone.

Years later, Veer, now a young man, aims to find the ring so he can find his father and prove his innocence. He lives with his maternal uncle Ranjeet, who is a film producer, and his arrogant cousin Rocky, who is an actor. Rocky and his mother Bindu hate Veer and his sisters Sweety and Meethi, but Ranjeet cares for them. Veer unrequitedly loves Zara, a beautiful actress who is the female lead opposite Rocky in a film which his uncle is producing to launch Rocky, while he is Rocky's stuntman in the film. He gets to know that the ring is in a place called Rudraprakash. He convinces his uncle to relocate the shooting location to Rudraprakash, so that he can get the ring.

On the other hand, in a far away planet, Shukracharya, the guru of the demon clan, summons Dansh (an alien and disciple of Shukracharya), to find the mystical ring. Dansh and his fellow aliens come to Rudraprakash to search for the ring. Dansh tries his best to get the ring, however, Veer finds it before him. The ring grants Veer with the power of invisibility.

Meanwhile Vyom (another alien and disciple of Shukracharya) calls Shwan, who is a dangerous mercenary, especially known for his ability to hear anything. Shwan was given the task of finding the ring long ago before Dansh was given the task, but he failed. After many failures, Shwan gets Veer in DRSO, and is almost near to catching him, but Dansh, who was also there, gets him out of view of the guards and gets him back to the spaceship, which enrages Shwan.

Sukracharya settles the fight between the Dansh and Shwan, and gives Shwan one more chance and orders Dansh to stay in the spaceship. Shwan secretly chases Veer to Amal's secret lab which is in a gutter. Veer realizes Shwan is a alien. Realizing that Veer is too powerful for him to fight back, Shwan decides to run, but Veer catches him by his ear and Veer accidentally tears his left ear, which permanently impairs his hearing.

He meets Professor Bhatkal and tells him about the alien and the superhuman powers he got, but to his surprise, Professor Bhatkal tells him that he knows about it and tells him that his father is with aliens. Meanwhile Shwan is killed by Vyom and Sukracharya again summons Dansh for getting the ring and tells him to be cautious as Veer has got superpowers.

Professor Bhatkal tells Veer to find the special jacket that his father made. Meanwhile, Shukracharya tells Vyom that Dansh is a person who has been specifically chosen to get the ring. He reveals that Dansh is actually Veer's father Amal, whom he knew had a lot of knowledge about the ring. He kidnapped Amal from the police van that had arrested him, killed all the cops there, and transformed Amal into an alien after erasing all the memories he had, in his life as a human.

Vyom asks Asuras named Achal and Vichal to kill Dansh. When they were searching for Dansh, some people see them. Peoples start crying and shouting because these asuras destroy their cars and houses. Veer also sees them and gets furious because he thinks that Achal and Vichal had killed Professor Bhatkal. Rocky, Zara, their friends and family are celebrating a launch party for their movie and after sometime they see that peoples are in danger. Veer takes his superhuman powers and become invisible to save people from danger. He fights with Achal and Vichal, but the two Asuras escape to their UFO. Veer feels sad that he was not able to save Professor Bhatkal. He is meanwhile blackmailed by some strange people to never reveal anything about the aliens, and if he does, those strange people would kill all his loved ones.

Dansh gets mad at Achal and Vichal for revealing their identity. To Vyom's suprise a human comes to the spaceship. The aliens are about to attack her but the alien named Aloma shows her real form and the aliens realize that she is an accomplice of the Demon Supreme. Aloma then gets mad at the aliens because they were not able to retrieve the ring from a mere human being. Aloma kills Vyom and is about to kill Dansh but Dansh blocks her and says that he will leave no task unfinished from his guru. He breaks the Mumbai metro bridge, and writes the word 'Hero' there, so that everybody thinks that the invisible man Hero is responsible for it. Veer arrives there after finding out what Dansh had done. When he arrives there, he sees the Indian national flag about to fall, and he immediately wears the ring and prevents it from falling. Veer's best friend, Bantoo, who happens to be near, witnesses the sight and learns Veer's truth of being the invisible Hero. The two of them decide to challenge the aliens and expose them, so that they can prove Amal's innocence.

The next day, Veer becomes invisible and wears his jacket. He stands on top of a high tower and lets a flock of crows surround him. As the public and media people are watching, he throws Shwan's ear that he tore off a few days ago for the crows to eat. Dansh, watching all of this, feels ashamed and decides that he would get the ring, even if it meant killing Veer.

Meanwhile, Sweety and Meethi, who know about Veer's unrequited pining for Zara, convince Ranjeet to let Zara perform a stunt. Ranjeet tells Veer to teach Zara the stunt. While training, Zara tells Veer that if the invisible Hero wants to prove that aliens really exist, then, he should catch one alien. Veer is thrilled by the idea and plots along with Bantoo to catch an alien. The twosome let a replica of Veer's jacket hang above a building, so that everyone believes it is Hero. As people start gathering, Dansh too arrives there. Being very cunning, Dansh gets to know that Hero is not standing on top of the building. He attacks Sweety and Meethi, who are standing on a balcony, worriedly searching for their brother. But Veer, still invisible, saves them from harm. Dansh puts a GPS tracker on Veer and soon, with the help of the tracker, the TV reporter Naila and other journalists start chasing Veer. He runs into the area where Zara lives, and accidentally gets a huge amount of water poured on him, which reveals his existence. The media people also spot Zara putting clothes up to dry, shattering the lies that she said about living in a big mansion and owning a lot of imported cars, and Veer runs away from there. Just then, Vichal arrives there and mistakes the red jacket for the invisible Hero. As he draws closer, he falls into the trap that Bantoo had made, and loses his communication device in the process. At the time, Rocky comes there dressed just like Veer and Bantoo with a mask, and goes away after stealing Vichal's device. Veer and Bantoo take Vichal to Amal's secret lab and interrogate him.

Meanwhile, the media start harassing Zara, and Bindu scolds her for lying. But Ranjeet, who knows that Zara is a talented actress, handles the media by telling them that Zara was living in the slum area to practice method acting. While going for stunt training, Zara tells Veer that he should not be in awe of Hero, as he put her in so much trouble. But Veer comforts her by saying that people are not what we see them as. Naila asks Zara to help her with a article about Hero, and after a lot of persuasion, Zara agrees, because she too wants to know about Hero.
