Gold broadcasts as a network on AM and FM frequencies across New Zealand and is owned and operated by New Zealand Media and Entertainment (NZME). Its head office and studios are in central Auckland, alongside NZME's seven other radio networks.
History
Gold went to air on 1 July 2020, taking over the FM frequencies held by Mix and the AM and low power FM frequencies previously used to broadcast Radio Sport.[1]

Programmes
Gold runs as an FM and AM network across New Zealand with both networks carrying the majority of the same shows.[3]
The AM version of Gold referred to as Gold AM does carry different programmes at times. These are mainly sport and rural programmes that previously broadcast on Radio Sport, including The Country with Jamie Mackay and live sport commentary including Super Rugby, All Black tests, cricket and netball.[2]
Weekdays
Andrew Dickens hosts the morning show on Gold each weekday morning from 6am – 9am. Brian Kelly hosts The Country Sport Breakfast on Gold AM from Tauranga each morning. This show is a mixture of sport and rural interviews as well as music.[4]
Georgia Cubbon hosts the day show from 9am-3pm, with The Country with Jamie Mackay, presented from the Dunedin studios, airing between 12-1pm on Gold AM only. Robert Taylor is the afternoon host with his show on air between 3-7pm. Rick Morin hosts the night show from 7-11pm.[3]
Weekends
Weekend hosts on Gold include Brian Kelly, Georgia Cubbon, Robert Taylor, Grant Kereama and Dan Bernstone. Gold AM also broadcasts live sport commentaries on the weekends for international and domestic rugby union games.
