Nate Kinsella (born March 19, 1980)[1] is an American multi-instrumentalist. He has previously played with the band Joan of Arc and is currently a member of Make Believe and American Football, the latter of which is fronted by his cousin Mike.[2] Kinsella assisted in the recording of the album I Do Perceive by Owen, one of his cousin's projects.[3] In October 2007, Kinsella released his debut solo album, under the name Birthmark, titled The Layer.[4] The second record under that project, Shaking Hands, came out on November 30, 2010[5] and was followed on May 15, 2012, by Antibodies.[6] The project's fourth album, How You Look When You're Falling Down, was published on October 16, 2015.[7]
