Palangabad Rural District (Template:Lang-fa) is in Palangabad District of Eshtehard County, Alborz province, Iran. It is administered from the city of Palangabad.[3]
The National Census of 2006 counted 6,613 people in 1,903 households as a part of Eshtehard District, Karaj County, Tehran province. [4]
In August 2010, Karaj County, Nazarabad County, and Savojbolagh County were separated from the province in the establishment of Alborz province.v[5]
In June 2012, Eshtehard District was separated from Karaj County in the establishment of Eshtehard County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Eshtehard as its capital and only city at the time.[3]
At the most recent census of 2016, it had a population of 1,218 in 374 households. The largest of its 11 villages was Palangabad (now a city),[6] with 1,012 people.[2]
