Elmhurst Community Unit School District 205 (D205) is a school district headquartered in Elmhurst, Illinois in the Chicago metropolitan area. It serves most of Elmhurst, as well as small parts of Addison, Oakbrook, and Bensenville.[2][3]

History

In 1995 a school bond of $15 million was proposed.[4] In 1993 the district had 6,173 students, and Emerson School had rented church facilities for excess students.[5]


In November of 2018 a $168.5 million referendum was passed to demolish and rebuild Lincoln and Field Elementary schools, as well as doing numerous other things, such as adding all-day kindergarten. [6]

Schools

Elmhurst District 205 has 8 Elementary schools named Edison, Emerson, Field, Fischer, Hawthorne, Jackson, and Lincoln. The District has 3 Middle schools named Bryan, Sandburg, and Churchvillle.

Bryan Middle School is in South Elmhurst and feeds mainly from Jackson, Jefferson, and Lincoln. Sandburg Middle School is in Central Elmhurst and feeds mainly from Edison, Hawthorne and Field. Churchville Middle School is in North Elmhurst and Mainly feeds from Emerson and Fischer.

All District 205 Middle schools feed into York Community High School, which is the only high school in the District. The District also has an early childhood center named Madison Early Childhood Center.
