Dietrich Grille (25 November 1935 Gotha – 19 March 2011, Nuremberg) was a German political scientist and historian.[1]

Grille studied in Jena and University of Marburg, where he received his doctorate in December 1964. His thesis concerning Alexander Bogdanov rivalry with Lenin, also included the German translation of three texts by Bogdanov:[2]

  • "Über die Kritiker der Tektologie" (On the Critics of Tektology, translation of "О критиках тектологии" from Вестник Социалистической академии (Bulletin of the Socialist Academy) No.4 (1923) pp. 272-284
  • "Organisationprinzipien der sozialen Technik und Ökonomik" (Organizational Principles of Social Technology and Economics, translation of "Организационные принципы социальных технологий и экономики" from Вестник Социалистической академии (Bulletin of the Socialist Academy) No.4 (1923) pp. 272-284
  • "Der Lehre von den Analogien" ("The Doctine of Analogies", translation of "Учение об аналогиях" from Вестник Социалистической академии (Bulletin of the Socialist Academy) No.2 (1923) pp. 78-97

An edition of his PhD dissertation, Lenins Rivale, was published in 1966. This was regarded as being very thorough by subsequent scholars studying Bogdanov.[3]: 9

In 2005 he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.[4]
