In some communities of Spain, minor local entity (Spanish: Entidad local menor) is a territorial entity of scope smaller than municipality. The term is used in Aragón, Castilla y León, Extremadura, Galicia and Valencian Community. In other places terms of similar purpose are parroquia rural (rural parish, Asturias), entidad local autónoma (autonomous local entity, Andalucía), entidad municipal descentralizada (decentralized municipal entity, Catalonia), an junta vecinal (rural council, Cantabria).
