Distribution
Napaeus is endemic to the Macaronesia ecoregion: Azores and Canary Islands.[3][4]
Species
There are two recognized subgenera, Napaeus Albers, 1850 and Napaeinus Hesse, 1933.[2]
Species within the genus Napaeus include 18 species on the Tenerife,[3] 17 species[3] on the La Gomera and others. Additionally, 11 new species from the Canary Islands were described in 2011.[2][5][6]
