Warnakulasurya Wadumestrige Devasritha Valence Mendis (born 21 May 1958 Koralawella, Sri Lanka) is the current Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Chilaw since 2006.[1]

Mendis was officially ordained a Catholic priest on 20 July 1985. He was appointed a Coadjutor Bishop of Chilaw on 17 January 2005 by Pope John Paul II. He was consecrated a Bishop on 2 April 2005.

Bishop Mendis succeeded Bishop Frank Marcus Fernando as the Bishop of Chilaw on 19 October 2006. He is currently Secretary General of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Sri Lanka. He is a former student of Prince of Wales' College, Moratuwa, St. Sebastian's College, Moratuwa, the University of Peradeniya and the Pontifical Urban University, Rome.
