Ram Prakash Singh (known as Prof. R.P. Singh) is an Indian Scientist, Educationalist and Researcher. He is currently working as Emeritus Scientist at IISER Pune. He is well known for his works as Vice-Chancellor Lucknow University (years - 2005 to 2008) and before as Professor and Head, Materials Science Centre, IIT Kharagpur. He is an alumnus of Glasgow University, Liverpool University and Allahabad University.

Throughout his career, Prof. R.P. Singh is working on Polymer Science and Engineering - a very important part of Materials Science. His research papers are published in top International Journals. He is a recipient of Flory Award 2005. He has research and teaching experience in India, United States, Iraq, France, Germany, Italy, Russia.

Prof. R.P. Singh's research works are highly appreciable among the Scientists & researchers. He has 11 patents in his name and more than 200 peer reviewed international and national publications to his credit. Many of his research works are used in Industry now-a-days.

He has more than 51 years of research experience in the field of Polymers and Materials Science. His current researches are focused on highly efficient Polymer solar cell.
