Patrick McNaughton is an American art historian and professor emeritus at Indiana University,[1]. A graduate of University of California, Los Angeles and Yale University, McNaughton specializes in the field of African art history.[2] Much of his research stems from early field work in Mali. He taught at Indiana University from 1983 until his retirement in 2017.[3][4] He attained the rank of Chancellor's Professor and served as department chair.[5]

He is also a published author and was honored as a Winthrop Rockefeller Distinguished Lecturer at University of Arkansas in 1997.[6] [7]
