Jean-Yves Escoffier

Born in Lyon, France,[1] Jean-Yves Escoffier (July 12, 1950 – April 1, 2003),[not verified in body] was a French cinematographer who worked as director of photography on a number of films of Leos Carax including Boy Meets Girl (1984), Mauvais sang (1986), and Les Amants du Pont-Neuf (1991),[1] on a number of European and American feature films including The Human Stain (2002), Possession (2002), Nurse Betty (2000), The Cradle Will Rock (1999), Rounders (1998), and Good Will Hunting (1997),[1] as well as Harmony Korine's Gummo (1997).[1] He also worked with Mehdi Norowzian, Jeanne Moreau for Air France, David Lynch for Nissan Motors,[not verified in body] and on music videos, "Hurt" (2002) for Johnny Cash and Mark Romanek.[not verified in body]
Escoffiere died in his home in Los Angeles, California during production of The Human Stain, a film since dedicated to his memory.[not verified in body]
