The Rapallo Conference was convened by the Allied powers of World War I, on the fifth of November 1917 in Rapallo, Italy, following their defeat by Germany at the Battle of Caporetto.

The conference resolved to form a Supreme War Council at Versailles to co-ordinate allied plans and actions. The Council eventually led to the appointment of Ferdinand Foch as generalissimo of the allied powers.
