The Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research (JAIR) is an open access peer-reviewed scientific journal covering research in all areas of artificial intelligence. It was established in 1993 as one of the first scientific journals distributed online.[1] Paper volumes are printed by the AAAI Press. The editor-in-chief is Craig Boutilier (University of Toronto).

The journal is abstracted and indexed by Inspec, Science Citation Index, and MathSciNet. According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2016 impact factor of 2.284, ranking it 49th out of 133 journals in the category "Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence".[2]
