Bullawarra is a locality in the Shire of Bulloo, Queensland, Australia.[2] In the 2016 census, Bullawarra had a population of 5 people.[1]

Geography

The Bundeena Road passes east to west through the north of the locality. The Bulloo River flows through the locality from east to south.[3]

Bullawarra is part of the Channel Country where the rivers are mostly dry riverbeds except for seasonal flooding. The land is principally used for low density cattle grazing.

Lake Bullawarra in the east of the locality (27°53′23″S 143°35′57″E / 27.8898°S 143.5993°E / -27.8898; 143.5993 (Lake Bullawarra))[4] is a nationally important wetland. It is a habitat for a vulnerable species, the Major Mitchell's cockatoo.[5]

Education

There are no schools in Bullawarra. The nearest public primary school is Thargomindah State School and the nearest public secondary school is Cunnamulla P-12 State School.[3]
