Strophurus williamsi, also known commonly as the eastern spiny-tailed gecko, the soft-spined gecko, and Williams' spiny-tailed gecko, is a species of lizard in the family Diplodactylidae. The species is endemic to eastern Australia.
Etymology
The specific name, williamsi, is in honor of American herpetologist Ernest Edward Williams.[2]
Geographic range
In Australia, S. williamsi is found in northeastern New South Wales, Queensland, southeastern South Australia, and northwestern Victoria.[3]
Habitat
The preferred habitats of S. williamsi are forest and savanna.[1]
