Gelechia scotinella, the thicket groundling, is a moth of the family Gelechiidae. It was described by Gottlieb August Wilhelm Herrich-Schäffer in 1854 and is found in almost all of Europe. The habitat consists of mature hedgerows and scrubland.[2]

The wingspan is 11–14 mm.[3] Adults have been recorded on wing from June to September.[4]

The larvae feed on Prunus spinosa, feeding within the stems and flowers.
