Spix's guan (Penelope jacquacu) is a species of bird in the family Cracidae. It is found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, and Venezuela. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest. Its estimated global range is approximately 5,000,000 km² and is common in at least parts of this range. It is therefore considered a least concern species by the IUCN.[2]

The common name commemorates the German naturalist Johann Baptist von Spix (1782-1826).[3]
