Grapholita tenebrosana, the Grapholitha roseticolana, is a moth of the family Tortricidae. It was described by Philogène Auguste Joseph Duponchel in 1843. It is found from most of Europe east to Japan. The habitat consists of woodland, gardens, orchards, parks and scrubs.[3]
The wingspan is 11–14 mm.[4] Adults are on wing from June to July.
The larvae feed on the hips of Rosa canina, other Rosa species and sometimes the fruits of Sorbus aucuparia. Larvae can be found in August and September. The species overwinters in the larval stage in a spun hibernaculum. Pupation takes place in dead wood or under bark.[5]
