Julia Farrugia Portelli, is a Maltese politician and journalist. She is a member of the Parliament for District 5, having been elected in 2017 on the Labour Party ticket. She was Parliamentary Secretary for Reforms, Citizenship and Simplification of Administrative Processes on 9 June 2017. On 15 January 2020, Farrugia Portelli was appointed as Minister for Tourism & Consumer Protection in PM Robert Abela's cabinet.

She had previously worked as a journalist for Malta Today, as well as in the Labour Party newsroom. She has previously been an advisor to Minister Anton Refalo.[1]

In May 2018 she was subjected to multiple insults by the Democratic Party on its Facebook page.[2][3]
