Jiegao (Chinese: 姐告; pinyin: Jiěgào) is a town in southern China near the border with Myanmar. It is located 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) southeast of Ruili and is part of Yunnan province.

Geography

Jiegao is located with a river separating it with a finger of Myanmar land extending eastward.

Transport

A railway link between the China system and the Myanmar system was proposed in 2009. One possible route connects to the Myanmar railhead at Lashio.[citation needed]

Road

There is a bus direct from Kunming which takes 12 hours, via Baoshan, and goes along the old Burma Road (G320).[citation needed]

Air

The nearest airport is in Mangshi, two hours to the north, and it receives daily flights from Kunming in around 50 minutes.[1]
