Ferdous Ahmad Qurishi (Bengali: ড. ফেরদৌস আহমদ কোরেশি) is a Bangladeshi politician and chairman of the Progressive Democratic Party.[1]
Career
Qurishi is a journalist, who worked in Desh Barta.[2][self-published source?] In 2004 he formed the Green Party of Bangladesh.[3] He worked in the Bangladesh Nationalist Party. During the rule of the caretaker government from 2007 to 2009 he called for the formation of alternate parties to be created in Bangladesh.[4] He is the chairman of Progressive Democratic Party in Bangladesh.[5]
His party was formed on July 2007 during the military backed caretaker government rule which supported the Party.[6] The party came to be known as the "Kings Party". He joined the Jatiya Jukta Front, an alliance of political parties to compete in the parliamentary elections in 2008.[7] The alliance broke up in the same year.[8] He was the editor of Desh Bangla newspaper in 2012.[9]
