Makino School of Continuing and Non-Formal Education, formerly known as College of Continuing and Non-Formal Education is a constituent school of Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences located in Allahabad, India.[1][2] The school focuses on farming community, food processing, alternative marketing system, health and nutrition, and rural education.

History

Kazuho Makino, a Japanese agronomist, joined the institute in 1964. In 1976 he launched a Non-Formal Education Center to provide agricultural training to farmers and rural leaders. In 2000 the center was recognized as College of Continuing and Non-Formal Education where Makino served as the first Dean of the college. With the renaming of the university in 2009 the name of the college was changed to the Makino School of Continuing and Non-Formal Education.[3]
