The Down Senior Hurling Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association competition organised since 1903 by Down GAA among the top hurling clubs in County Down. The winner qualifies to represent the county in the Ulster Senior Club Hurling Championship, the winner of which progresses to the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship.

Only four clubs compete in the championship; Ballycran, Ballygalget, Portaferry and Liatroim Fontenoys. Also Breadgh GAC will compete in 2020 and the Fontenoys will drop down

History

Faugh-a-Ballagh won the inaugural Down hurling championship in 1903.
